Motel Concept Art
I made this concept piece early in production when we were figuring out what we wanted the art style of the environments to be. After having worked on At Winter's End, which had a very intensive rendering style, I knew I wanted to propose something a little more simplistic so we could better distribute our production time of different assets. I also used this piece to experiment with how we could show the presence of the outside world and external influences outside of the dialogue being read by the player. This is because we already knew the protagonist would not be able to leave the motel, and therefore we had to make the lore of the world feel coherent and as close as possible even though our protagonist was disconnected from it.
